In honor of World Refugee Day last
month, I took part in an online panel
discussion about the
plight of refugees along with two of our students, Kateryna G. from
Ukraine and Zakia Q. from Afghanistan. The panel discussion was hosted by
SAP which has granted close to
$500,000 for refugees to enroll at UoPeople. In addition, the university
has received a $240,000 grant from the Oak Foundation for our Ukrainian
scholarship initiative. I want to thank SAP, the Oak Foundation, and our
many other donors for their generous support of UoPeople’s efforts to
provide hope for a better future to thousands of refugees around the
world.
Below you can read the latest news
about the university, including UoPeople being named as one of the Global Top 100 Most Innovative Universities
along with Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Oxford and Cambridge. In
addition, UoPeople won The Changemaker award in this year’s
Adobe Experience Maker Awards competition.
All my best for a wonderful summer,
