Kamrul is Earning an MSIT to Explore the World Of Software Design

Kamrul H

Kamrul H., Computer Science, Bangladesh

Born into an upper-middle-class household in Bangladesh, Kamrul was always an average student, by his admission. Education was a high priority in his household and Kamrul’s family was quick to remind him of his incredible, but unreached, potential.

“I was always a quick learner but was not serious about academics,” he says. “I had always been involved in so much else apart from my books. I played cricket and was a skilled bass guitarist at school. At one point, I thought I would be a musician,” he adds with a chuckle.

After graduating college, Kamrul began working various tech jobs in sectors like networking, system administration, and hardware engineering. He excelled, but never felt that he was fulfilling his calling. Then he discovered web application design and everything changed.

“That was a turning point in my life,” he tells us. “I became addicted to the world of web applications. I realized that I should have been more serious about my college education. The desire to earn a master’s degree started to haunt me. And that’s exactly how I found UoPeople.” Kamrul is now earning his Master of Science in Information Technology degree from UoPeople.

University of the People’s unique, 100% online model offered him much-needed flexibility and access to an international community of fellow learners.

“This isn’t education in isolation; it’s a collaborative symphony of ideas that propels me to solve problems from every conceivable angle. I have earned 95% plus marks in my last 6 terms here. I am starting to believe, as others always did, that I can be better if I try. My confidence is growing day by day,” he shares enthusiastically.

Kamrul currently works as a software architect, developing software that connects job seekers to their dream careers. As important as his work is to him, it’s always balanced with his role as a father to his daughters.

Kamrul wants to continue exploring the world of software design and development after he earns his master’s from UoPeople. He plans to use the skills he gains to create positive change, influencing individuals across professions, industries, and communities. We are so excited to see Kamrul’s growth at the university and in his career and wish him all the very best in all future endeavors.
