Bryce C., Computer Science, United States

Bryce was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. When it came time to enter the workforce, he followed his passion and began building a career in information security and cybersecurity. Since then, he’s acted as CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) in both the public and private sectors and already carries several cybersecurity certifications. Always eager to learn more, he recently began pursuing an MSIT at University of the People.

“Although I’ve reached one of the highest points in my career, I believe the technical education I’m receiving at UoPeople will inspire me to become the best version of myself both professionally and personally,” he explains. “It will help me in my life’s main mission of making this world a better, safer place.”

One of the most unique aspects of UoPeople is the opportunity to learn alongside a diverse student body from over 200 countries. For Bryce, it’s not just an interesting experience, it’s a real and practical necessity.

“It’s a powerful concept because every culture will look at a topic from a slightly different perspective, but that is a perspective you wouldn’t have otherwise considered,” he says. “And that’s the power of education: Bringing people together to explore complex topics from different angles. I feel honored to be a part of this movement.”

Besides using his degree to advance his career goals, Bryce also plans to engage with and mentor the next generation of technology, cybersecurity, and privacy leaders.

“I enjoy teaching and mentoring others outside of my normal job, which I believe my degree will help me achieve. I consider my job a calling and where I can make the most significant difference in the world,” he says enthusiastically.

We’ve been incredibly impressed by Bryce’s commitment to his work and his deep desire to bring about change. We are proud to have him as a UoPeople student and wish him all the best for his future.
