“UoPeople Makes Juggling Career, Family Life, and School Possible,” Says MBA Student, Lindsey C.
Lindsey C., MBA, United States
Looking for a go-getter attitude? You’ll find it in Texas native Lindsey. Originally from the Fort Hood area, Lindsey C. attended Abilene Christian University where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. In addition she also holds a property, casualty insurance license and a real estate license.
Before venturing into real estate, Lindsey C. founded and operated a successful pediatric therapy clinic for individuals with special needs. As CEO of the company, she maintained operations of the clinic in Fort Hood and San Antonio, making special effort to assist in helping military members and their families. A variety of services were offered at her clinic including: behavioral therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, counseling, and equine-assisted psychotherapy. She has since sold her portion of the business, but it’s a huge accomplishment that she is immensely proud of.
Lindsey realized that though she had a bachelor’s degree, she wanted to advance her education. After learning about UoPeople online she decided to pursue her MBA. What does she hope to gain from achieving a Master’s degree? “I’m looking to expand my knowledge of business.” One of the key elements about UoPeople she loves is the knowledgeable professors and the support they provide. “My experience with UoPeople has been fantastic and the professors are very thorough,” she shared.
Not only is Lindsey busy professionally, but also in her personal life. “I’m an active member of the community with the Metropolitan Breakfast Club and have served as a volunteer in multiple non-profit organizations. Some of these include the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature, Seedling, and the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. I am driven to serve people and learn more about how the world works. I have extensive leadership experience in areas of operational management, marketing, and business analytics,” she says.
No doubt, Lindsey is impressive and we don’t see her slowing down anytime soon. Her latest achievement? “I’ve created a progressive and dynamic real estate model with the mission of moving people, both physically and emotionally. Everyone deserves a safe space to call home. I am focused on working with buyers and sellers in the Central Texas area, but love educating people on how they can obtain financial freedom and security,” she adds.
She also enjoys scoping out potential life-changing opportunities, discussing controversial issues with close friends. Her favorite pastime? “Soaking up the sun anywhere there is a waterfront,” she shares with a laugh.
Lindsey and her happily wedded wife, Sarah are parents to two boys. “I also have two adorably handsome Boston Terriers. I enjoy coaching my sons who are active in baseball and football and I simply enjoy watching them play as well.
What’s Lindsey’s favorite unique aspect about UoPeople? “The flexibility. With an active and busy lifestyle, it seems impossible to pursue a full-time degree but UoPeople made it possible for me to maintain all my daily activities through their progressive and innovative platforms and models for education. Being a member of the LGBT community, I value that UoPeople emphasizes diversity and inclusivity of students from around the world,” she says.
As far as her plans for the future, Lindsey wants to use her MBA to continue to manage her entrepreneurial lifestyle and help her manage the many opportunities that will undoubtedly come her way.
